Meet your coach

Hi, I'm Daniël

A certified nutrition coach in Karlsruhe, working in English with people who are building a life in a country that isn't home yet.

The short version

I moved, I cooked badly, and I learned it the hard way

Arriving somewhere new resets everything you had running on autopilot. The shops are different, the labels are in another language, the food you used to reach for isn't there, and the routine that quietly kept you healthy at home is gone. For a while I ate whatever was easiest and told myself I'd sort it out once I settled in.

What eventually fixed it wasn't willpower or a stricter plan. It was building systems that fit the life I actually had. That's the thing I now do with clients, and it's why the coaching is as much about your Tuesday as it is about your macros.

How I work

Four things I hold to

Honest before impressive

If I don't think the programme is right for you, I'll say so on the intro call. A client I can't actually help is not a win for either of us.

Slow enough to last

Steady change you keep beats fast change you hand back. We aim for the result that's still there next year, not the steepest possible line.

Numbers, kept in their place

I have a mathematician's background, so I'll show you what your data says. I'll also tell you when a number is noise and not worth a decision.

A person, not a platform

Every check-in comes back as a short video from me. You're not filling in a dashboard alone and hoping an algorithm notices.

Credentials & scope

What I am, and what I'm not

I'm a certified nutrition coach (OTL Akademie) with an M.Sc. in mathematics behind the way I read data and build the method. I work one to one, in English, with generally healthy adults who want to lose weight and keep it off.

I am not a doctor or a registered dietitian (Diätassistent). If you have a diagnosed condition, take medication that interacts with your eating, or have a history of disordered eating, I work alongside your physician and will ask for their sign-off before we start. Where something sits outside my scope, I'll tell you and point you to the right person rather than improvising.

01

Based in Karlsruhe

Coaching runs online, so where you are in Germany makes no difference to how we work.

02

Entirely in English

No German needed. Making food simple while the language is still landing is the whole point.

03

Six-month programmes

An active phase where the numbers move, then a stabilising phase where the habits learn to hold.

The thinking

Why six months, not six weeks

The hardest part of losing weight is the stretch after the results show up, when the scale stops rewarding you and the novelty is gone. That's the part most plans skip, and it's the reason the programme is built the way it is.
